This Pip Value Calculator helps forex traders instantly calculate the monetary value of each pip for any currency pair, lot size, and account currency. Whether you trade standard, mini, micro, or nano lots — knowing your pip value is the foundation of professional risk management. Enter your pair, exchange rate, and lot size to see exactly how much each pip is worth in your account currency.
What is a Pip
A pip is the smallest standard price move in forex. For most pairs it is the 4th decimal place (0.0001). For JPY pairs it is the 2nd decimal place (0.01).
How Pip Value is Calculated
Pip Value = (Pip Size / Exchange Rate) x Lot Units. For a standard lot of EUR/USD at 1.0850, one pip = $9.22. For USD/JPY at 155.00, one pip = $6.45.
Lot Sizes Explained
Standard = 100,000 units (~$10/pip). Mini = 10,000 units (~$1/pip). Micro = 1,000 units (~$0.10/pip). Nano = 100 units (~$0.01/pip). Beginners should start with micro lots.
Why Pip Value Matters
Knowing your pip value lets you calculate stop loss in dollar terms before entering a trade. Never risk more than 1-2% of your account per trade. Pip value is the key to consistent position sizing.
